They are seen either as a way out of a difficult situation, or as a way into a more exciting situation than being with you.
They lie to people they outwardly tell you they hate them by pretending to like them. This gives the “hated” reason to think, “What a great person.”

A narcissist will tolerate being around people they hate (almost everyone, anyway), because it inflates their image. They seem like a good person if they are openly enjoying someone else’s company.

If a narcissist doesn’t see any value in you, why would they value you?
You are the one who values them the most, and yet you are the one who is lying to you outright. That’s not fair, is it?
Your self-love goes down a notch when you get involved with narcissists. They are known to take the good in you and replace it with emptiness.

Narcissists can seem like the most powerful and controlling people, which spells disaster for their victims.
They surrender themselves as if they’re under a spell, and if you’re being completely honest, they are.

You look ridiculous in that dress.
You’ll never work.
I don’t know why I’m staying with you.
No one else will ever love you.
You can be so annoying.
How can you suddenly not be good at cooking?
Oh, here we go again. More tears. Be strong.
Do you see how this can never end, hearing toxic words spill out of their mouths almost constantly?
People believe these lies!
I wish I could round up every victim and tell them until my face turns blue…
Stop listening!
It’s so harmful to believe what they’re telling you, which is exactly why they’re saying these things in the first place.
They want to ruin your life, that’s their only goal. You’re just too busy believing the few times they tell you they love you.
