Everyone dreams of a day when they can defeat their narcissist, right? You want to shout from the rooftops:
I’m in control now! You no longer get to make decisions!
Am I actually making you feel empowered? We haven’t even started yet!
Coincidentally, today is your lucky day.
I know the mind tricks that can set you apart from the victim status you’ve been pushed into.
Let the tricks begin!
Time To Earn The Power
Has it been enough time for you to feel empowered to claim some power for yourself? In fact, to be honest, you’re serving more than a little.
Narcissists take everything that’s yours, and soon their control becomes a part of life.
But not necessarily.

Mind tricks are never innocent, and victims are unaware of these games until it’s too late.
Entering Strange Seas
Isn’t it strange that we switch roles this way?
You’ve always seen them play mind games with you, and now you want to be the one in charge.
These are strange seas indeed, but when you think about it, you can navigate them easily.
You just need a reminder every now and then that you’re capable.
Knowing What Works For Everything
I think this is what people tend to forget.
Taking control doesn’t mean you become the toxic, narcissistic victim.
It’s about the narcissist having their day, and you now taking control of your feelings and how you’re treated.
That’s for you.
Compliment Them!
Complimenting a narcissist might seem like the last thing you want to do, given the kind of people they are.
They certainly don’t deserve your kind words. But do they have to be sincere?
Oh my God, no!

Not if you really want control!
As long as the narcissist hears anything positive said to them and about them, they’re happy.
This gives you control over their emotions, something they’ve done for you since you’ve known them.
It’s as simple as mentioning how well the narcissist accomplished a task or how good they are at what you’ve noticed they’re trying to do.
Boosting their morale in this way is a very subtle way to regain your power, knowing that your opinions have a huge impact on them.
How the tables have turned!
Ease The Drama By Giving Them Accomplishment
Where narcissists walk, drama always follows. A big part of the reason narcissists love and create drama is that they don’t actually feel that accomplishment.
Knowing this, they harbor a lot of resentment and anger, especially toward their victims behind closed doors, or when no one is watching.
The next time you feel the drama escalating, you can magically defuse the situation.
Remind them how smart they are when you see their anger rising. Remind them that they are much better than this, and that you want to see them happy and having a great day because that’s where they thrive the most.
Buy Your Truth In stead of Their Lies
When you give up your opinions, you also give up your ability to believe what you think. Not only are you being told that your thoughts or beliefs are wrong or incorrect, but you’re being programmed to believe them.

Why do you agree with what the narcissist says?!
The quest to reclaim your power can only begin by allowing yourself to think for yourself again. I know it’s a big problem when victims no longer know how to choose.
What do you want for dinner? I don’t mind.
What’s your favorite color? I don’t know. I like them all.
Do you prefer summer or winter? Both are appropriate for different reasons, I guess.
Where would you like to spend your vacation this year? I don’t know. You choose.
What do you think of this new government? I don’t know much about it.
Nothing, I repeat nothing, can be formed in your mind as a yes or no, black or white answer.
Where did all that power go?
To the narcissist!
What if you started thinking about your reality as reality, instead of allowing the narcissist to change it for you?
I know I’m making it sound easier than it is, but with one change, you can start to change. Once you do, you’ll start to become more and more motivated to change.
Don’t Blame Them – Ignore Them!
Narcissists kind of love it when you call them out because they’re hiding their revenge or punishment. It’s like they’re provoking you to the point where you break down so they can blame you for your behavior.
This not only completely ignores their behavior, but it also puts you, the innocent victim, in the spotlight.

Ignoring them robs them of their power. It’s like they’re talking to themselves, and you’re no longer wasting your energy to provide for them.
Be Deliberately Mysterious
Mysterious City!
Don’t even think about giving the narcissist what they want.
If you can change your reaction, you can change the outcome. It’s that simple, but I know you’ll initially want to bite your cheek in frustration.
Be vague. Don’t give away your position. Soften your response so they don’t get what they want.
Talk About Their Interests : Step Away
If you sense a familiar dynamic emerging, you may automatically want to revert to what’s always been like.
This may feel like you’re being yelled at, or blamed for something you didn’t do.
Why?
Well, just because the narcissist wants it!
Not anymore!

Your power and control over the situation may make it seem like you’re steering this toxic ship in another direction.
Ask them for their latest predictions if they like sports. See if they’d like to attend a concert or a show if that’s their interest. Talk about work or the gym.
You know them, so you know what will work.
But I guarantee it will!
Refrain from Potential Narcissistic Gossip
Narcissists love to gossip because they like knowing that others make mistakes, too.
They want to know they can rally around and bring others down. That way, they get to take the blame, right?
Well, if you’ve done it in the past, stop.
Let them try, but resist the urge to belittle or complain.
You’re better than that.
Take Care: Me, Myself, and I
I won’t repeat myself—but if you wait for a narcissist to start taking care of you, you’ll be waiting a long time.

Do it yourself!

Go live your life and take control!
